Improved Camera Features On iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max Will Be Very Sophisticated - VermaNotes

VermaNotes - Apple has finally officially announced the iPhone 13 series globally which arrived with several improvements in the camera, screen, and battery life sector.  The latest iPhone 13 Pro models feature a 120Hz ProMotion display, which adjusts between 10Hz and 120Hz, but the screen size remains the same as the previous model.

This means that the iPhone 13 series has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR screen for the iPhone 13 Pro variant, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen.  Just like the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13, the pro model also features a slightly smaller notch.

Both are also protected by a ceramic shield which Apple claims is tougher than any brand of smartphone glass.  The Apple A15 Bionic chipset is available inside both phones and brings improvements in the CPU and GPU department.

Regarding the photography sector, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with a new 12MP f/1.8 ultrawide angle camera with a 120° field of view, which can shoot macro photos at a distance of 2 cm, and is capable of recording macro videos including slow motion and  time lapse mode.  This sensor can also capture up to 92% more light than before.

There is also a 12MP f/2.8 telephoto camera, which delivers 3x optical zoom with a system-wide 6x optical zoom range and 15x digital zoom.  This sensor is also joined by an ultrawide angle camera and a wide angle camera to be able to shoot in Night Mode.  The 12MP f/1.5 wide camera has the largest sensor, captures 2.2x more light on an iPhone and makes use of the LiDAR Scanner when shooting in Night Mode.

Furthermore, Apple has also added new video recording features such as a cinematic mode that changes the focus while recording video.  Users will be able to choose, adjust the level of bokeh, and even lock on which object should be the focus of the camera.  There is also an automatic mode that will be available on the front TrueDepth camera and the wide and telephoto rear camera.

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max series still have the lightning connector like their predecessors.  However, both have experienced improvements in terms of battery life, which is an additional 2.5 hours more on the Pro Max and 1.5 hours more on the Pro.

Wired charging is also still limited to 20W, while MagSafe wireless charging is 15W.  Users can still use Qi wireless charging, but it's slower as it charges up to 7.5W.

As additional information reported by 9to5Mac, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro series comes with dual eSIM support, and has a nano-SIM card slot with support for dual eSIM, allowing the use of three different paths for connectivity on the iPhone.  Unfortunately, it is unclear whether a nano-SIM and two eSIMs will work simultaneously and how the system actually works.

It is also possible that some network operators may not support eSIM and may disable the feature if the device is purchased through a network operator.  Expanding on connectivity features, Apple revealed that the latest iPhone 13 models come with support for more 5G bands.

The iPhone 13 Pro model will be available in Sierra Blue, Silver, Gold, and Graphite color variants.  Then, the iPhone 13 Pro series will be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants.  Both are only available for pre-order starting September 17 and shipping will begin on September 24.
